How to Burn Arabian Bakhoor

Bakhoor (oud incense) is traditionally burned to release its rich, smoky, and long-lasting fragrance. You can use either a charcoal burner for a classic experience or an electric burner for a cleaner, safer option.

Using a Charcoal Burner:

• Place a charcoal tablet on a fireproof surface and light it with a lighter or match.
• Once it glows and turns grey with ash, blow gently to ensure it’s fully lit.
• With metal tongs, place the hot charcoal inside your bakhoor burner.
• Sprinkle a pinch of muattar bakhoor, mamoul bakhoor, or pure oud chips on top.
• Add more bakhoor as desired to intensify the scent.

Using an Electric Burner:

• Plug in and switch on your electric incense burner.
• Once warm, use tongs to place a small amount of bakhoor or oud chips on the plate.
• Enjoy the slow release of fragrance as the bakhoor gently heats and diffuses.
